Check Out the Great Classes Planned for Fall!

Embrace and enrich your artistic side by enrolling now in one of our many fall art classes. From painting to drawing and digital animation, there is a class to suit every interest.

We offer classes for kids, teens and adults which focus on developing skills and techniques in a variety of art mediums and disciplines. Here are a few highlights from our fall schedule.

Printmaking

Thursdays, 6-8 p.m.

Try your hand at printmaking this fall. Printmaking, the art or technique of making prints, is an indirect means of creating art by transferring an image or design by contact with a matrix such as a block, plate, stone or screen. Traditional printmaking includes four basic manual processes: relief (wood-cut, wood engraving, linoleum-cut), intaglio (engraving, etching), planography (lithography) and stencil (screenprint). This class is open to teens and adults, and does require an additional supply fee due to the extra materials needed for students to create and print their designs.

Watercolor PaintsAdvanced Watercolors

Mondays, 7-9 p.m.

Continue your study of watercolors and sharpen your technique and talent with our Advanced Watercolors session. Building on the skills of students who already have taken our introductory watercolors class or have experience with using this painting medium, Advanced Watercolors will take students through more involved techniques to add textures and depth to their paintings. This class is open to adults and high school students.

Creative Watercolor Techniques

Wednesdays, 4-5:30 p.m.

Calling all teens: produce a whole new world of watercolor effects with our Creative Watercolor Techniques class. Students in this class will learn how to use watercolor in innovative and different ways to expand their artistic skillset and broaden their horizons with this unique medium. This session is perfect for students passionate about watercolors and who are looking for new and unique ways to transform their ideas into vibrant works of art.

Mixed Media

Wednesdays, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Why work with one art form when you can combine a few? In a spirit of experimentation, try our Mixed Media art class this fall. Explore a variety of art mediums and see what you can create in 2-D and 3-D mediums. Perfect for the artist who loves working with different materials, Mixed Media will give adult students a chance to be extra imaginative and original. What will you create?

Cartooning and Illustration

Wednesdays, 5:30-7 p.m.

Our cartooning and illustration class is sure to be a hit with our teens this fall. A great way to introduce your son or daughter to art, this unique class walks students through creating their own unique story through art. With the popularity of comics and graphics novels these days – as we discussed in a previous blog – this class offers students a way to express their own storytelling preferences, whether comedy, fantasy, sci-fi or any other genre.

We are also offering many more classes for students of all ages. Classes start Sept. 14, and our full schedule of fall sessions is now online to review. Contact us today for more information or to register for any session.
