Learn About Digital Art with Two Special Sessions

Digital Art Course

To be an artist in modern times requires you to have both creativity and technical skills. Graphic design is all done digitally, so while you may have the precise eye of Rembrandt, you’ll need to have skill with some photo editing or digital illustration software to execute your vision like the pros!

Digital Art CourseFortunately for you, Hunakai Studio of Fine Art is offering two special courses later this month where students can learn the necessary skills to create and manipulate your own images. Let’s take a look at some of the ways our new six-week Digital Art course will improve your artistic and technical abilities.

The Digital Art course is offered in two sessions, each running for six weeks – either Mondays from 5-7 p.m., starting May 15, or Saturdays from 3-5 p.m., starting May 20. The course will cover the basics of photo editing and photo manipulation, giving students an introduction to GIMP photo editing. Participants in the sessions will learn how to create their own dream worlds, promotional posters and portraits reminiscent of well-known art movements. In learning how to create posters, students will have the means to promote themselves, whether they are in a band, perform in comedy shows or have a small business – or simply love to create.

While this course primarily deals with photography and repurposing pre-existing images, students may have a chance to dive into Inkscape vector illustration software, depending on interest. These are essential programs when it comes to digital illustration and can help create creative images from scratch or in addition to existing photos or drawings. Drawing tablets are not required for the course, but recommended, especially for students with a passion for digital drawing and illustration.

The Digital Art course will runs from mid-May through the end of June, and sessions are starting in less than two weeks. If you’ve ever thought about getting into digital art, now is the perfect time to do so. Read more about the Digital Art course online now and register online or call Hunakai Studio of Fine Art today at 508-543-5665 to learn more.
