October Exhibits Around Boston

Watercolor Boston Skyline

With the colder weather starting to set in, we thought you might be interested in some exhibits and events happening in the Boston area this month. Here’s a look at some events and exhibits planned that piqued our interest.

Museum of Fine Arts Boston

Not only is this a fantastic place to spend an afternoon (or a whole day) at any time of the year, but Oct. 28 will be your last chance to visit the museum for “Winesdays,” during which visitors can sample wine from a featured winery. Mingle with friends, sample some wine, and take in some art – a perfect and sophisticated evening! The museum also hosts College Night on Oct. 29, when students in the Boston area are admitted to the museum free of charge.

The Institute of Contemporary Art

This museum offers many must-sees for anyone interested in contemporary art, architecture, performance art, photography, sculpture and more. Opening this weekend is the “Leap Before You Look” exhibition, telling the story of the small liberal arts college that provided a wholly unique education experience for students from around the country from 1933-1957. Learn more about this exhibit on the institute’s website, or stop in Oct. 24 if you’re a member for exclusive activities for members.

Boston Children’s Museum

The Boston Children’s Museum hosts its annual Fall Festival on Oct. 16, featuring live music, pumpkin painting, caricature drawings, beanbag toss, a composting station and more. The museum also offers a plethora of great experiences daily, including science lessons, art activities, pajama parties and much more. Don’t forget the range of regular and rotating exhibits. Stop in and have a great day with the whole family!

Check out some of these exciting events and exhibits this month and get inspired to create great works of art of your own. Contact Hunakai Studio of Fine Arts today for more information on upcoming classes.
