Summer Session 2017: Classes for Kids

Under the Sea

It may not seem like summer is around the corner, but it’ll be here before you know it! That means that now’s the time to start making plans for your children during those long months out of school. We know it can be a little bit boring for them sometimes without having school and their friends around to occupy them, so why not have your kids learn some new activities and spend time making new friends with summer sessions at Hunakai Studio of Fine Arts? Here are some of the summer classes for kids that we’re offering this year.

Under the SeaDrawing Basics

For kids who are just beginning to show an interest in art, we offer our Drawing Basics class. This class covers the rudimentary skills of this building block of art and will teach kids how to work from real life and pictures, in black and white and color, and using all sorts of media. This class will run from 9 a.m. to noon July 10-14.

Under the Sea Class

In our Under the Sea class, students of all ages will work with two- and three-dimensional materials to create sea creatures and seascapes. This summer-themed class is perfect for kids who are interested in the ocean or love to visit the aquarium. Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 24-28.

Draw and Paint from Real Life

Our Draw and Paint from Real Life class is great for kids of all ages, and will help them understand how they perceive the world around them. Kids will learn how to “see” like an artist, and then translate what they’ve seen into artworks. We’ll work from observation, so we’ll study still-lives, landscapes and people. This class will be held from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 14-18.

Hunakai Studio of Fine Arts hosts a full slate of children’s classes, as well as sessions for teens and adult classes all throughout the summer. Check out our full schedule online and register for summer classes today or call us at 508-543-5665 to learn more.
