As more and more parents wish to cultivate, develop and
enhance their children’s love of art, they are turning to basic art fundamentals or medium-specific classes for their children and teens. More than learning how to hold a paintbrush or draw with a pencil, art classes offered by Hunakai Studio of Fine Arts allow children to receive introductory instruction, by exploring various mediums, to help prepare them for more advanced classes. Students not only learn the medium’s required skills and techniques, but also learn about past and present artists, art’s influence in culture, and study each medium’s most recognized works.

During the school year, parents interested in Kids Art Lessons Mansfield MA can choose from weekday afternoon and Saturday art classes for their school-aged children. When school is out for the summer, children and teens can attend one or more of Hunakai Studio’s summer programs on a full or half-day basis. Each week-long program focuses on one half-day) or two (full-day) different art forms.

Elementary Art Programs

Here, intermediate-aged children will learn how to mold and sculpt clay, receive education in basic glazing techniques and become familiar with firing process requirements. Hand building, coil making, slab construction and making pinch pots are some of the clay-working skills explored.

Middle School Art Programs

Older students will find a variety of Middle School Art Sharon MA classes offered at Hunakai Studio. 5th and 6th grade students can choose from Fundamentals in Art or Clay classes designed for their grade levels. If students have taken these classes at the elementary level, advanced techniques utilize the student’s previously learned skills and help strengthen their growing medium’s art history knowledge and technical skills.

Teen Art Classes
