The class allows students to pursue painting interests in watercolor, oils or acrylics along side other students working in these mediums. Pick your interest then begin the curriculum-based lessons designed to increase your skills. Should you become interested in another medium you can switch while preserving your place in the class.
Students explore the sculptural quality of clay, learning the various techniques, pinch pot, slab and coil construction and introduction to the wheel. Students design a final piece and utilize any one of the techniques to complete. Work will be fired and glazed to finish.

A starting point for beginner artists who need to build their skills and knowledge of the foundation of drawing and then move into oil painting. Learn with graphite the basic yet crucial techniques. Drawing is the base to all art forms. If you want to paint you must know how to draw before. This class covers both.
This class will be like a buffet; we will touch on many things to give you a taste of what the program can do. Class will begin with an introduction to the tools pallet and drop down menus. We will explore through various exercises, techniques such as layers, retouching, photo montage, and special effects.
An exploration of varied combinations of mediums, color theory and composition. Work in 2 and 3 dimensions. Analyze materials and joining requirements for the most effective craftsmanship. Experimentation encouraged!

Mere copying of nature is not an expression of emotion. Raw emotion, without rules of academic correctness to govern its output, just produces nonsense. Great art, can only come when creativity is tempered by taste, when the design is conscious, and when the form is uniquely suited to the ideas presented.

The watercolor curriculum is broken down into concrete skills development. Basics from material use, control of the paint and brush work are all taught. Wet into wet, dry brush, specially prepared surface and special effects are all brought into play as the students learn to let the medium do the work to create the desired effects.
A 2.5hr class. Learn to take the old or unused and transform it into something that you will never want to take off. Experiment with fabrics, lace, buttons, appliques and so much more.
